The primary storage advantages of clear mount stamps over wood mount are their slimline case, consistent sizing, lighter weight and easy read labels.
But what if you could save even more space?
Would you be interested?
If you are like me, smaller footprints (rather than reduction of the quantity of your actual craft supplies) is the key to space saving in your craft space. In order to maximize my stamp storage, I have switched primarily (though not entirely) from wood mount to clear mount stamps. But, it recently occurred to me that I was missing an opportunity to save even more storage space with some of my clear mount sets!
I have found that multi-case sets, like the Apothecary Art set from the current Occasions Mini Catalog and the Every Little Bit set from the Idea Book & Catalog (both shown below), can actually be stored in a single case ... thus taking up half the storage space AND providing me with an extra clear mount storage case for free for any of my wood mount stamps I choose to unmount!
On the outside of these boxes, you simply slip the 2nd cover sheet into the back cover of the case you are using. Inside these boxes, depending on fit, you have the option to place all stamps on one side of the case or half the stamps on each side.
For most crafters, storage and organization seems to take up almost as much time as crafting itself. Do you have any other storage tips to share with the rest of us? Please post in the comments below! And check back soon for more organization tips from me.
Happy Crafting AND Organizing,
Noel

I love storage options that are also display (hubby is working on another custom shelf I designed for just that purpose for a tricky wall ... I'll have to post when it is finished), and my ribbon storage is one of the areas I still need to work on. I just might have to give those round belt hangers a closer look!

You know I love space saving stamp storage. Great job on increasing your shelf space. I wouldn't have been able to buy ANY rubber stamps at all for the last eight years, if I had not unmounted my stamps and found space efficent storage for them.
Best tip I have is for small alphabet letters, magnetic mount is the best solution and store in a metal tin so they are secure.
I think one of my favorite storage things I have done is to purchase round belt hangers, hang them staggered on my closet wall and fill them up with spooled ribbons. I never forget to consider using ribbon now, always seem to have the right color or size readily available and my six ribbon hangers actually look rather artistic on a my narrow wall space that would otherwise be blank. I keep the rest of my ribbon hoard that doesn't or can't fit on the hangers sorted by color or theme in 8x20-inch plastic storage bins.
