Do you recognize the Dresden Designs Bigz L Die in this project:
I promised to share with you projects done with my previously unused Occasions Mini Catalog purchases. One of the items I had purchased in my very first order from this catalog was the Dresden Designs Bigz L Die. It's funny how the items you just have to have when a catalog is first released, often don't turn out to be the products you will use frequently. I have every intention of using this die for scrapbook pages and for fabric appliqued details on a personalized pillow for my youngest daughter. However, there has been very little scrapbooking in my life lately, and fabric crafting is very low on my priority list (especially since my daughter's birthday isn't until August). So I challenged myself to use this die in a new way.
Since the individual shapes were too large for use on a card front, I decided to use a portion of the design. I cut out a handful of the smaller image and simply moved them around until I found a design I liked. With the Baja Breeze 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon from the same collection (Twitterpated), my card started to take shape. A few pearls accents later and I had an elegant card I was pleased with ... now to change it into a birthday card and send it off!
