I managed to get my craft room a bit cleaner again yesterday, but had to stop and craft as usual. A few scraps, a little trimming, and some glue and this card was created:
The 'scraps' used to make this card:
- The 'hinge' card base was a fancy fold card idea I am playing with for a class project (I simply folded the cover piece back at the midpoint, and attached my card front to the foremost flap).
- The Designer Series Paper scrap leftover from my retro card designs (the backside is the orange leafy print used on my first card seen here).
- Black card stock is scrap from a Breakfast at Tiffany's birthday banner swap I'm completing. I promise, I will share the finished project here or on my Facebook Fan Page!
- The yellow Daisy was created with the Daisies #2 die I use to make my more detailed Gerbera Daisies and was torn off an old paper box I had created as a gift box for my daughter a year ago ... the box was fairly crunched, but the flower was salvageable!
So, when you finish up with projects, do you file away the scraps? toss them? or put them to use right away on something new? If you've disposed of them in the past, I suggest you reconsider!
And if you are eyeing this particular Designer Series Paper, or any of our other Designer Series Papers, the retiring accessories list will be released tomorrow - I'll post it for you on my blog. There is always a lot of turnover on our patterned paper, so be prepared to stock up on your favorites before they sell out!
