This Father's Day card was designed for a class I am doing this morning on the Polished Stone technique. I'm always happy to share a masculine card sample with you, and this one could be used for any occasion - simply swap out the greeting!
Note: while I can't say it is my favorite stamp set, the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set used on this card is one of my most highly used stamp sets retiring at the end of this month!
When trying to recreate a card online that you would like to case, remember to make use of your own skills and products on hand:
- Haven't learned the polished stone technique? The good news is that you can always recreate this card using a patterned paper for the top section of the card, or create your own patterned papers with stamps and ink.
- Don't own a Big Shot or the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder used for the bottom panel? Try recreating the look with embossing with a stylus and quilting ruler or with the Simply Scored tool.
- Don't have this greeting particular retired greeting stamp? Use another from your stash or print your greeting with your computer and printer!
The bottom line? Take the basic layout of the card and make it your own!
For those of you who keep a card sketch library, here is this card recreated as a card sketch:
