What do you do with coordinating one inch strips of leftover Designer Series Paper? Make a set of greeting cards, of course!
The pattern paper used here is from the festive line 'Pool Party' from our upcoming 2012-2013 Idea Book & Catalog, Pool Party Designer Series Paper (catalog and collection goes live June 1st!). This Designer Series Paper is one of a collection of coordinating products that will help you celebrate in style.
Instructions:
Remember my tip on making easy flag banner strips with your square punches? (see original tool tip/technique post here). Well, it is time to put that trick to work again. Cut your five or six 1 x 12 in strips of coordinating patterned paper into three 1 x 4 in pieces each. Punch your 'flag' end on each piece - pay attention to the direction of your pattern, as you probably don't want hearts, lanterns, etc. running upside down on your card. And don't worry if your 'flag' punch isn't perfectly square on the paper ... a bit of variation can be a good thing! Arrange 5 flags per card and embellish with ribbon and an appropriate greeting. Or, do as I've done, and hold off on the greeting until you are ready to use the card and customize for the occasion.
As easy as that, you have a set of three greeting cards for upcoming birthdays and other holidays. And, by playing with the pattern combinations, each card can have its own unique feel.
